Our products is commonly used on walls and ceilings and often where the surface is uneven. It is a flat finish with a sheen level of less than 10%.  Setpoint Matt Emulsion is an Acrylic copolymer based, washable interior/exterior emulsion paint with a smooth flat decorative finish and stain resistance. Available in all colours and safe for use in children rooms. Emulsion Paint in Lagos Island shall consist of pigments with suitable extenders, in appropriate proportions; in a medium consisting of a stable synthetic polymer dispersed in water with other suitable ingredients as may be necessary to produce a paint that would satisfy the requirements of this standard.

When received in an unopened full Container; paint shall not have an offensive or irritating odour and if any separation of the liquid has taken place, the depth shall not exceed 5% of the total depth of the content of the container. The paint shall be free from lumps and skin. It shall not exhibit excessive setting. Caking, granulation, levering, colour separation and shall be easily stirred to smooth and homogeneous state. Coarse Particles and Foreign Matter.

When testedEmulsion Paint in Lagos Island  shall not leave a residue of more than 1% (w/w) on a sieve of nominal aperture size 75μm. Viscosity when tested, (i.e. the ICI Roto Thinner viscometer method), the viscosity shall have a minimum of 6.0 poises at 27 ± 2°C. Dilution Stability. When suitably thinned with water in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, for roller, brush, or spray application, the paint shall mix readily with a minimum amount of foaming to a smooth and homogeneous state. The foaming, if any, shall dissipate rapidly.

After the well-mixed and reduced paint has been stored for 72 hours at 27 ± 2°C, it shall rapidly remix to a smooth uniform state suitable for roller, brush, or spray application. pH Value, When tested in accordance with the method prescribed in Table 1, using suitable glass electrode system or universal indicator, the pH value shall be between 7.0 and 9.0.  Storage for Twelve Months, When stored at a temperature of 27± 2°C in sealed containers as delivered by the manufacturer up to at least 12 months from the indicated date of the manufacturer, the paint shall show no biochemical deterioration leading to loss in viscosity or coagulation of the emulsion and shall meet all the requirements of this standard. Temperature Stability, When put into 400mL glass jar, with ground-in-cover, to about three quarters full and kept fully closed in a suitable oven at a temperature of  50 ± 2°C for one month, the paint shall not develop an offensive odour. When tested using 1CI Roto Thinner viscometer, the paint shall have a viscosity of not less than 6.0 poises at 27 ± 2°C.

Paint application and film Properties, When tested, the paint shall after thinning be suitable for application by brush, spray or roller. The first coat shall brush, spray or work satisfactorily, and during the application of the second coat, the paint shall brush, spray or work easily, flow, spread and join well. It shall show no floating film coarseness or any other undesirable film characteristics in a wet dry film. Although the paint is supplied in a ready-for-use condition, thinning of up to 20 percent by volume with water is acceptable, if necessary. Re-coating Properties, When three successive coats of paints, after thinning with water are applied under standard conditions on Fibre Reinforced cement (see clause 7 under NIS 1990) at an interval of two hours between coats by brushing, roller coating or spraying, there shall be no lifting of the underlaying coats.

The paint shall not exhibit colour separation, sagging, flaking or cracking, under normal atmospheric conditions. No difficulty shall be experienced with the application of the successive coats by brushing, spraying or with the roller. The brush marks produced during successive application shall not be more pronounced than those on the first coat. Opacity and Spreading rate, When tested, the paint shall be of good opacity and shall be able to cover well at not more than two coats, with a spreading rate not less than 10m2 per litre for premium and 8m2 per litre for standard, economy, and interior emulsion paints.

Drying Properties, After applying a coat of paint on a glass panel  giving a wet film thickness of approximately 50μm at standard test conditions, the paint shall be surface dry at the end of 210 minutes and shall dry to a suitable condition for recoating after 2 hours. Appearance and Properties of Dry Paint Film, Specula Gloss 85° (Shoon). After applying a coat of paint by means of a spreading device on a gloss panel, the dry paint film shall have the 85⁰ specula gloss given below relevant to the type of finish specified by manufacturer. Egg Shell (85°) = 15.60. Colour, The colour of the paint specified shall match that of the standard colour chip. Resistance to Wet Abrasion, the paint shall show no film defects at 51 cycles for interior paints, 101 cycles for economy emulsion paints, 201 cycles for standard emulsion paints, and 501 cycles for premium emulsion paint.

Resistance to External Exposure, the paint shall show no paint defects of cracking, blistering, flaking and colour fading. Fastness to Light, When tested, using single carbon arc apparatus and glass panels the paint after 168 hours of exposure shall exhibit little or no change in colour. Resistance to Staining When tested in accordance with the method prescribed in Table 1, the paint film shall show no sign of staining. Dry Film Resistance to Fungal Growth when paint is specified as providing a fungus resistance finish, the dry paint film, both after 48 hours ageing and 6 months exposure from May – October of any year, the paint film shall give 30% Maximum fungal growth.
